The Wall of Grief is a digital memorial to remember the lives lost during Covid-19 pandemic. The project is run by The Reporters’ Collective in collaboration with public-spirited organisations.
A strong digital presence can ensure that those who have died during the pandemic are never forgotten. The Wall has a dynamic homepage, a memorial submission page, and a tool that allows sharing the memorial of loved ones on social media. It also houses a well-populated repository of studies and news about the pandemic. The data repository will be open to all, and is a two-way street: journalists, researchers, transparency activists and associations can dip into it as well as contribute.
An equally important function of the Wall is to let people come together, and demand accountability and a promise from the political leaders that we are better prepared for a similar onslaught in the future.
Creating such an inclusive and impactful memorial space and sustaining it in the long run so that it keeps glowing as a guiding light in the future will require investment in hardware, software and workforce. If you wish to support us, please consider donating to The Collective here.
